STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF TENURE FOR NORMAN FINKELSTEIN

We are students and faculty at DePaul University as well as community members. Whether we are Professor Finkelstein's students or simply concerned individuals, we all support academic freedom and social justice. Professor Finkelstein's status as a public intellectual provides service to DePaul University as well as the international community. His scholarship is not only timely and profoundly relevant, but also maintains the utmost regard for academic discipline. Finally, he challenges his students to thoroughly study and respectfully discuss diverse and opposing viewpoints.
We the undersigned respectfully urge the University's President, Dennis H. Holtschneider, to approve Norman Finkelstein's application for tenure.
